twin peaks.

Further to Mud and Bones’ January 13th, 2014, post ‘Twin Peaks’ (show below), it is official;  ‘Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery’, a 10 disc DVD set goes on sale July 29th!  It reportedly contains every episode from the show, the feature film ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’ and 90 bonus minutes of deleted and alternate scenes.  For those, like me, who were fans of the bazaar-drama 25 years ago, I wonder how it will hold up to our 25 year older sensibilities?  I don’t know about you, but I am willing to find out.

Twin Peaks Post (January 13th, 2014)

Otherwise known as…..the best television show ever(!), celebrates it’s 25th anniversary this year. And, David Lynch is shooting new Twin Peaks footage, presumably for a special-edition DVD promo. For those who remember it, the cult classic series was unexpectedly terminated at the end of season 2, leaving viewers without resolve over Laura Palmer’s murder; until, of course, the later release of a feature film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, that incidentally flopped at the box office. Notably, it was actually booed at Cannes. Even I, as a fan of the series, admit that the plot took a turn for the……bazaar after the incredible success of its first season. But, much like a train wreck, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the horror of it. Ah, I can actually hear the hypnotic instrumental theme song now. In fact, much of the music that was featured in the series is quite good. Question my taste as you see fit, but I can hardly wait to look again through Lynch’s dark, creepy and campy looking glass, to see what this new [undoubtedly creepy] footage may have in store. Stay tuned.
