forgotten english friday.

Bibesy. 1700s.  Bibesy was an 18th century term describing a too earnest desire for drink.  By the calendar, it should already be Spring.  After another week of wintery weather, bibesy is not only expected, it’s recommended!  It would appear that a trend is emerging; many of Mud and Bone’s forgotten words on fridays centre around alcohol.  I refer to Mud and Bone in a seemingly clever attempt to disguise any personal affinity towards these boozy related definitions.  I am Mud and Bone, however, so that likely hasn’t fooled any of you, now has it.  Cheers!
